Rosatom State Corporation, through its subsidiary JSC Engineering and Technology Center “GET” (ETC GET), has announced a pilot training program for nuclear industry specialists in India, developed in partnership with the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) and ProSIM R&D Pvt Ltd. The program, scheduled for April 15-17, 2026, at the IIT Bombay campus, will utilize simulators and digital twin technologies to enhance practical learning and operational understanding of nuclear power plants. This initiative responds to the increasing demand for skilled professionals in India's nuclear energy sector, which is projected to expand significantly by 2047, necessitating thousands of trained specialists annually. Currently, India's training capacity falls short, producing only a limited number of qualified professionals each year, indicating a critical workforce gap. The program leverages the complementary expertise of ETC GET in simulator technology, ProSIM's capabilities in physics-based modeling and safety analysis, and IIT Bombay's academic strengths in nuclear science and engineering. Rosatom's representative emphasized that this initiative reflects their commitment to developing India's nuclear workforce, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of nuclear infrastructure is crucial for the sector's long-term growth. The program is expected to attract interest from various stakeholders within India's nuclear ecosystem, paving the way for further collaboration in training, research, and technology deployment.
