Seven individuals lost their lives and 16 others sustained injuries in a series of road accidents in Himachal Pradesh, India, on Saturday. The first incident occurred in Chamba district when a pickup jeep fell into a 400-metre gorge after the road caved in, resulting in the death of Madan Lal and serious injuries to his nephew, Manoj Kumar. In Sirmaur district, two men, Gulshan from Jharkhand and Naresh Kumar from Shimla, died when their car plunged into a gorge near Charna village. The driver, Vipin Kumar, was seriously injured and has been hospitalized. The third accident in Kullu district involved a tourist tempo traveller that skidded off the road, leading to the deaths of four tourists, including two women, while 14 others were injured. Local authorities are conducting rescue operations and investigations into the accidents, with residents protesting for better safety measures on the treacherous roads.
