GS Sharanya, a 36-year-old techie from Kerala, found herself lost in the Tadiandamol hills of Kodagu district, Karnataka, during a trek on April 2. After being separated from her group, she spent four days alone in the dense forest with only 500 ml of water and a dying phone. Despite the challenging conditions, including heavy rain and the threat of wildlife, Sharanya maintained her composure and actively sought help. She managed to contact a friend and her homestay before her phone died. On the second day, she climbed higher to increase her visibility, and on the third day, she took shelter near a rock beside a stream, which ultimately aided her rescue. A coordinated search operation involving nine teams, including local tribal communities and forest officials, successfully located her after four days of searching.
