Pate, a 6-foot-8 player, had an impressive season, averaging 16.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in 36 games. His 3-point shooting improved significantly from 26.1% last season to 36.8% this season, showcasing his development as a player. This commitment marks Pate as the second notable recruit for Providence under new head coach Bryan Hodgson, who is looking to enhance the team's competitiveness following his recent appointment. Earlier on the same day, San Diego State transfer Miles Byrd also committed to the Friars, indicating a strong start for Hodgson's recruiting efforts.
