Franck Kepnang, the 6-foot-11 center for the Washington Huskies basketball team, has declared his intention to enter the transfer portal. The Cameroonian player, who was a top 50 recruit out of high school, has been a fan favorite due to his defensive prowess and intensity. Over four years, he played in 59 games, averaging 7.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game. His impressive defensive skills were highlighted during the 2025-26 season, where he recorded a career-high 2.1 blocks per game, ranking second in the Big Ten. Despite struggling with injuries that limited his appearances in previous seasons, Kepnang is considering a seventh year of eligibility and has not ruled out a return to Washington. If he decides to leave, the Huskies will need to fill the gap left in their frontcourt, which currently includes centers Mady Traore and Lathan Sommerville, along with forward Nikola Dzepina. Head coach Danny Sprinkle is already exploring potential recruits to enhance the team's depth.
