The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released new resource books for Computational Thinking and Artificial Intelligence (CT&AI) aimed at students in Classes 3 to 8. This initiative is part of the broader implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) and aligns with the National Curriculum Framework for School Education 2023, which emphasizes technology-enabled learning. The curriculum aims to foster AI literacy by 2030, integrating skills such as Computational Thinking, ethics, and unplugged learning methods. Notably, all existing AI courses for Class IX will be phased out starting in the 2026-27 academic session, although Class X students will continue under the current framework for one more year. The resource books are designed to complement NCERT Mathematics textbooks, allowing teachers to seamlessly integrate CT&AI concepts into their lessons without needing to alter lesson plans. The materials encourage analytical thinking and problem-solving through guided discussions and independent exploration, ultimately preparing students for a tech-driven future.
