During an election rally in Peravur, Kannur, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, a Congress leader and Member of Parliament from Wayanad, sharply criticized the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) government in Kerala. She alleged that the past decade has seen increased corruption, rising unemployment, and a failure in governance, stating that the state's debt and unemployment levels are at record highs. Gandhi emphasized Kerala's potential as a 'jewel' with ample resources and opportunities, particularly in tourism and job creation, but pointed out a significant mismatch between education and employment. She accused the LDF of prioritizing corporate interests over the welfare of the people and suggested a 'secret deal' between the LDF and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Additionally, she expressed concern over the lack of accountability for Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan amidst ongoing probes into opposition leaders. Gandhi called for a government that embodies a clear and inclusive vision, warning that failure to act could lead to 'five more years of difficulty and struggle' for the citizens of Kerala.
