The Directorate of Education in Delhi has released the results of the first computerized draw of lots for the 2026-27 admissions under the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Disadvantaged Groups (DG), and Children with Special Needs (CWSN) categories. This draw took place on April 6, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Following the announcement, the verification process for selected candidates will begin, with candidates receiving notifications regarding their verification centers via SMS. A total of 29 zonal teams have been established to oversee the document scrutiny process across 15 districts. Each team will be trained on the provisions of the Right to Education (RTE) Act and the verification procedures. Applicants must provide specific documents, including income certificates and proof of residence, with an income cap of less than ₹5 lakh annually. The verification timeline is set from April 9 to April 22, 2026, with final admissions occurring between April 9 and May 20, 2026. Any vacant seats from non-reporting candidates will be filled through subsequent draws, ensuring compliance with the RTE Act.
