The Delhi government has banned the sale of LPG cylinders directly from godowns to tackle illegal sales, hoarding, and black marketing. Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have instructed distributors to adhere to this rule and ensure that all LPG cylinders are delivered directly to consumers' homes. This initiative aims to streamline distribution and reduce crowding at gas agencies. Additionally, smaller 5-kg LPG cylinders are now more accessible, allowing purchase without address proof, which is particularly beneficial for migrant workers. Authorities have reported stable LPG supply, with 131,335 cylinders delivered against 114,679 bookings as of April 4, indicating that demand is being met. Enforcement actions have intensified, with 17 raids and 76 inspections conducted to curb illegal activities. A control room has been established to address complaints regarding LPG supply, and residents are encouraged to report issues through designated helplines.
