Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu (Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh) launched a strong critique of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its lack of support on vital issues such as the revenue deficit grant and disaster relief. Addressing the media in Una, Sukhu questioned why BJP leaders did not accompany the state government in meetings with the Prime Minister to advocate for financial support. He claimed that during the BJP's rule, Himachal Pradesh accumulated a debt of ₹76,633 crore and alleged that the party misused ₹60,000 crore in central funds, which could have alleviated the state's financial burden. Sukhu emphasized that the current Congress government has focused on public welfare through various schemes, including ₹1,500 monthly assistance for underprivileged women and free electricity for low consumption. He also noted that the state government had independently announced significant relief packages in response to recent natural disasters, while accusing the BJP of failing to secure additional support from the central government. Furthermore, Sukhu pointed out internal divisions within the BJP, suggesting that factionalism is hindering the party's effectiveness in the state.
