The government of Jharkhand is set to enhance access to job-oriented education by establishing 13 professional colleges across seven districts, including Ranchi, Khunti, and Latehar. These institutions aim to cater to underserved rural areas, particularly benefiting women and youth who currently lack access to professional education. Principal Secretary Rahul Purwar emphasized the need for these colleges in regions like Tamar, Lapung, and Burmu, where local demand for professional courses is high. Additionally, a Jharkhand Skill University (JSU) will be created on the existing Ranchi University campus, which will focus on competency-based and industry-aligned education to improve youth employability. While the infrastructure for these colleges will take approximately two years to complete, courses will commence in vacant government buildings to ensure immediate access to education.
