This initiative is part of a broader ₹252.93 crore modernization plan recommended by the 15th Finance Commission, with the Central Government contributing ₹189.70 crore (75%) and the State Government ₹63.23 crore (25%). The newly acquired assets include 25 Advanced Water Tenders, 40 Quick Response Vehicles, 50 Inflatable Rubber Boats, and 30 BA Set Compressors. Andhra Pradesh has achieved a milestone by fully utilizing the central funds allocated for this modernization. In a related development, CM Naidu also unveiled a plan for a statewide water grid to improve irrigation and water security, emphasizing the completion of the Polavaram Project by 2027.
