Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has vehemently denied allegations from Congress leader Pawan Khera, who claimed that Sarma's wife, Riniki Bhuyan Sarma, holds three active foreign passports from the United Arab Emirates, Antigua and Barbuda, and Egypt. Sarma characterized Khera's remarks as malicious, fabricated, and politically motivated lies, asserting they reflect desperation from the Congress party as elections approach. He pointed out inconsistencies in the documents presented by Khera, suggesting they were poorly manipulated. Sarma announced his intention to file both criminal and civil defamation suits against Khera, emphasizing that he will hold him accountable for his statements. He expressed confidence that the people of Assam will not be misled by such allegations and reaffirmed his commitment to securing a decisive electoral mandate.
