Aiden McKee, a standout center for Warrior Run High School in Pennsylvania, has been honored as The Daily Item Player of the Year for the 2025-26 boys basketball season. McKee, standing at 6-foot-7, played a crucial role in transforming the Defenders' fortunes after a challenging season in 2022. The team qualified for the District 4 Class 3A playoffs for four consecutive years, achieving their first PIAA playoff victory since 1988 and winning the District 4 championship for the first time in 38 years. During the season, McKee averaged 16.2 points, 10.3 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 2.9 assists per game, marking the third straight year he achieved a double-double. He is recognized as a three-time first-team all-Daily Item selection and will continue his basketball journey at Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania, following their recent NCAA Division II national championship victory.
