The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has approved a significant redevelopment project for 49 bus stations under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, which is expected to attract over ₹4,000 crore (approximately $480 million USD) in investments. This initiative aims to modernize bus stations into airport-like hubs, providing enhanced passenger amenities such as waiting areas, sanitation, VIP lounges, and commercial facilities. The project will not impose a financial burden on the state government, as it will be financed through private investments. The redevelopment will cover 52 districts, including cities like Agra and Ballia, with plans to extend to additional districts later. In addition to transportation infrastructure, the Cabinet has also approved various proposals under the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy-2022, supporting industrial units with capital subsidies and project modifications. Notable beneficiaries include OFC Tech Pvt Ltd and AJJ Cane Industries, among others. The Cabinet's decisions also emphasize green energy investments, particularly in solar manufacturing, and include provisions for displaced families and the establishment of a Forestry and Horticulture University in Gorakhpur.
