Organized by the Greater Orlando Sports Commission, this annual event has grown to become one of Central Florida's significant sports leadership gatherings, drawing over 750 attendees last year. Dawes, who made history as the first Black woman to win an individual Olympic medal in gymnastics during the 1996 Olympics, is expected to engage in a fireside conversation at the event, which will also feature awards recognizing local sports leaders. Since her retirement, Dawes has been active in sports and youth development, founding the Dominique Dawes Academy in Maryland and becoming a minority owner of the Washington Spirit. Jason Siegel, CEO of the Greater Orlando Sports Commission, emphasized the event's goal of celebrating women shaping sports while featuring nationally recognized voices.
