The controversy centers around pacer Avesh Khan, who allegedly interfered with the ball after Rishabh Pant hit a boundary to win the match. Critics argue that the Sunrisers should have been awarded five penalty runs, citing Laws 20.1 (Dead Ball) and 41 (Unfair Play). However, experts suggest that the incident does not qualify as a deliberate interruption. Additionally, Sunrisers Hyderabad is reportedly considering writing to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to address this incident and others, including contentious dismissals involving players Heinrich Klaasen and Abhishek Sharma. Currently, the Sunrisers have won one match and lost two in the ongoing season, with their next game against Punjab Kings scheduled for April 11.
