Padmini Kolhapure reminisced about the late Asha Bhosle, who portrayed her mother in the 2013 film 'Mai', directed by Mahesh Kodiyal. Asha Bhosle, who passed away on April 12, 2023, at the age of 92 in Mumbai, made her acting debut in this film at the age of 79. In her heartfelt Instagram post, Padmini described the experience as a blessing, highlighting the deep connection they shared. 'Mai' is a family drama that explores the challenges faced by children who abandon their ailing parents, focusing on a character named Madhu who cares for her mother suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. The film also features actors Ram Kapoor, Shivani Joshi, Kshitee Jog, and Anupam Kher. Asha Bhosle, known for her iconic songs, dedicated the film to her own mother, also affectionately called 'Mai'. Her last rites will be held at Shivaji Park in Mumbai.
