In a daring escape that astonished onlookers, an 89-year-old woman in Beijing, China, climbed down the outside of a high-rise building after accidentally locking herself in her room. The incident occurred on the afternoon of April 1, when she found herself trapped with no way to call for help. Instead of waiting, she decided to scale down the building, descending from the 27th to the 21st floor, approximately 50 meters above the ground. A cleaner and a security guard noticed her perilous situation and alerted the police, urging her to remain still. However, she continued her descent, gripping narrow metal railings without any safety harness. Firefighters arrived but deemed it too dangerous to reach her from the outside. They instead devised a plan to rescue her from within the building. After securing her with a safety rope, they cut part of the railing to allow her to move onto an air-conditioning platform, where she was safely brought back inside. Remarkably, the woman emerged unharmed, showcasing her incredible resolve at an age when many would shy away from such risks.
