The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast indicating that Delhi will experience a significant rise in temperatures this week, with maximums expected to reach 40°C by April 17. On April 13, the maximum temperature is projected to be around 37°C, while the minimum will hover near 20°C. The IMD anticipates that temperatures will remain above normal starting April 14, with increases of 1.6 to 3°C. A lack of active western disturbances is contributing to the warmer conditions, leading to a gradual rise in temperatures by 4-5°C over the next seven days. This follows a relatively mild period in late March due to rainfall from western disturbances, contrasting with last year's intense heatwave from April 7 to 9, when temperatures surpassed 40°C.
