Rizwan Ahmad, a resident of the Chhawani locality in Padrauna town, Kushinagar district, Uttar Pradesh, was detained by the Delhi Police's Special Cell on suspicion of involvement in terror-related activities. His detention follows his name surfacing during an ongoing investigation by the Special Cell. A 10-member team, led by Inspector Nishant Dahiya, coordinated with local police to apprehend Ahmad late on Saturday and transport him to Delhi for further questioning. Authorities seized his electronic devices, including a mobile phone and laptop, to search for digital evidence that could reveal communication links or other relevant information. Despite no local case being registered against Ahmad, Superintendent of Police Keshav Kumar confirmed that security vigilance has been heightened in Kushinagar due to the sensitivity of the allegations. Ahmad has a previous arrest record linked to a terror case in Mumbai, where he was imprisoned from 2017 to 2023 after explosives were discovered at his home. Investigators are looking into his past connections, including potential links to the terrorist organization ISIS.
