The Delhi transport department is set to reopen 13 regional transport offices (RTOs) across the city, one in each district, to improve access to essential offline services. Currently, only four RTOs are operational, and the reopening aims to provide physical assistance to residents who require in-person services that cannot be completed digitally. The restructuring follows a successful transition of over 33 services to a digital format, yet officials recognize the need for physical locations for verification and document submission. The new RTOs will be located at Mall Road (Old Delhi), Jam Nagar House (New Delhi), Lado Sarai (South), and others. Additionally, the DL-13 vehicle registration series will be revived, which had been skipped previously. The department emphasizes that while faceless services will remain the primary mode of service delivery, the new RTOs will serve as support centers for cases needing manual intervention. Timelines for the operationalization of these offices will be announced soon.
