West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee addressed voters at a public rally in Murshidabad, urging those whose names have been wrongly deleted from the electoral rolls to appeal to the Appellate Tribunal by April 6. She emphasized the importance of vigilance against potential tampering of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) by central forces, asserting that transparency must be maintained during the electoral process. Banerjee highlighted that approximately 25 lakh electors had their names retained following her Supreme Court case and assured voters of free legal assistance for their appeals. Additionally, she cautioned party candidates to meticulously check their nominations, warning that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may attempt to disrupt the process. Banerjee also criticized Union Home Minister Amit Shah for neglecting local issues, challenging the BJP to engage in political discourse rather than infringing on citizens' rights.
