The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has announced a second round of proposals for researchers to utilize data from its Aditya-L1 solar mission. This mission, launched in September 2023, aims to enhance our understanding of solar phenomena by providing continuous observations from its operational halo orbit at the Sun-Earth Lagrangian Point 1, located approximately 1.5 million kilometers from Earth. Currently, there are over 27 TB of data available, with several significant scientific results already published in international journals. Researchers from Indian institutions are encouraged to submit proposals, which will be evaluated for their scientific objectives and technical justifications. The approved studies will take place between July and September 2024. Aditya-L1 is equipped with seven scientific instruments designed to study various layers of the Sun and measure the surrounding space environment.
