Morgan Stanley's Bitcoin Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF), named MSBT, launched recently and quickly made waves by recording over $25 million in trading volume during its first half day. The ETF features a competitive sponsor fee of 0.14%, making it attractive to investors. Bloomberg Senior ETF Analyst Eric Balchunas highlighted the launch, placing it in the top 1% of all ETF launches. This debut comes at a time when Bitcoin ETFs collectively hold over $100 billion in assets under management, with the largest being BlackRock's IBIT fund, which has over $53 billion in net assets. Morgan Stanley's wealth management division, which employs around 16,000 advisors, has recommended clients allocate 2-4% of their portfolios to cryptocurrencies. The bank's move to offer its own Bitcoin ETF signifies a shift in institutional attitudes towards crypto, though experts suggest that other major banks may not quickly follow suit due to their established anti-crypto reputations.
