Intel has officially joined Elon Musk's Terafab project, which focuses on creating advanced AI chips in collaboration with Musk's companies: SpaceX, Tesla, and xAI. Announced on Tuesday, this partnership will involve the construction of two chip factories in Austin, Texas. One factory will focus on powering electric vehicles and humanoid robots, while the other will cater to AI data centers in space. Intel stated that its expertise in designing and fabricating high-performance chips will significantly contribute to Terafab's goal of producing 1 terawatt of computing power annually to support future advancements in AI and robotics. Following the announcement, Intel's stock rose approximately 2% in early trading and has seen an impressive 38% increase in value since the beginning of the year.
