The new 'as is where is' framework removes the requirement for layout plans for registering existing buildings in 1,511 of the 1,731 unauthorized colonies. This change is expected to benefit approximately 50 lakh residents. Applications for ownership can be submitted online via the PM-UDAY (Pradhan Mantri - Unauthorised Colonies in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojana) portal starting April 24. The Revenue Department will now issue conveyance deeds, streamlining the process that was previously managed by the Delhi Development Authority.
