The Madhya Pradesh High Court has granted bail to two men accused of posting an Instagram reel that expressed support for Iran amid its conflict with the United States. Justice Ramkumar Choubey stated that the content of the reel did not incite hatred or promote enmity between communities. The case was initiated after a complaint on March 7, alleging that the accused raised slogans supportive of Iran. However, the court found that the material presented by the police did not substantiate claims of promoting hostility, which is necessary for the charges under Section 196(1)(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The court noted that the police had registered the FIR without adequate supporting evidence, leading to the decision to grant bail. The two men were released after providing a personal bond of ₹50,000 each, along with a surety of the same amount.
