Lucknow University (LU) is set to introduce 14 minor degree programmes for undergraduate students, allowing them to pursue these courses alongside their main degrees. The initiative aims to enhance students' employability by providing additional skills. The programmes will cover a wide range of subjects, including social sciences, AI and human behaviour, forensic science, and creative writing. Prof Arvind Mohan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, emphasized that these courses will be open to students from all faculties, enabling them to select one minor course in addition to their existing curriculum. The Faculty of Engineering will also offer minor programmes focused on AI & machine learning and data science, among others. LU's Vice Chancellor, Prof JP Saini, stated that these credit-based courses will contribute between 20-32 credits towards students' graduation, thereby increasing their chances of employment.
