The Maharashtra government is set to unveil MahaChatur AI, an AI-powered conversational platform aimed at simplifying apprenticeship access for the state's youth. Launching on Monday, the platform will operate through WhatsApp, allowing users to check eligibility, register, and receive guidance throughout their apprenticeship journey. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will inaugurate the initiative, which includes signing several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with industry partners. According to Manisha Verma, additional chief secretary of the skill, employment, entrepreneurship, and innovation department, Maharashtra is a leader in apprenticeship engagement under the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS). Despite strong policies, young people have faced challenges like complex registration processes and lack of guidance. MahaChatur AI aims to address these issues by providing a user-friendly interface that reduces the time to navigate the apprenticeship process from days to about 15 minutes. The platform also emphasizes inclusive access for rural communities and disadvantaged youth, while real-time data generated will assist in monitoring and improving apprenticeship programs.
