The first is essential tremor, a genetic condition that results in involuntary shaking and is generally manageable with medication. The second cause is anxiety or stress, which can exacerbate tremors in stressful situations. The third is Parkinson's disease, a progressive disorder that leads to reduced dopamine levels, resulting in tremors and other movement-related symptoms. Lastly, issues in the cerebellum, the brain region responsible for balance and coordination, can also lead to tremors due to infections or tumors. Dr. Chawla stressed the importance of not ignoring persistent tremors and consulting a neurologist for early diagnosis, as timely intervention can significantly improve quality of life.
