Open University Malaysia (OUM) will celebrate its 30th Convocation from May 9 to 12, 2023, at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur, with more than 7,000 graduates participating. This milestone reflects OUM's dedication to providing flexible learning opportunities for working adults, allowing them to pursue higher education without interrupting their careers. Graduates like Kubrina Dass, a sports marketing professional, and Dr. Abdul Malik Yusoff, a veteran in the medical field, exemplify the diverse backgrounds of OUM students. They have benefited from OUM's Open, Distance and Digital Education (ODDE) model, which enables learning from anywhere. Since its inception in 2000, OUM has produced approximately 140,000 graduates, offering over 60 accredited programs across five faculties. The university emphasizes lifelong learning and accessibility, supporting its students through online resources and 35 Learning Centres nationwide. As the Class of 2026 prepares to graduate, they represent a Malaysia committed to continuous self-improvement, regardless of age or professional background.
