The Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) is poised to announce its support for C. Joseph Vijay, leader of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), in forming a new government in Tamil Nadu, India. The VCK, which holds two seats, plans to submit a letter of support to the Governor, enabling Mr. Vijay to take the lead in government formation. VCK leaders, including Legislature Party leader Vanniarasu and MLA L. E. Jothimani, are traveling to Chennai to finalize the letter. A senior VCK leader noted that the party aims to create a common minimum program instead of providing unconditional support, contrasting with the approach of the Left parties. VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan met with outgoing Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to discuss the political situation, reflecting the VCK's alliance with the DMK. The support for Mr. Vijay is also motivated by a desire to avoid Governor's rule and to resist a government led by the AIADMK. An official announcement from Mr. Thirumavalavan regarding the party's decision is expected soon.
