At a Dalit Christians Conclave in Vizianagaram, J.D. Seelam (former Union Minister and Congress leader) expressed concerns over the NDA government's alleged targeting of Dalit Christians. He claimed that the government is threatening to remove the reservation benefits guaranteed by the Indian Constitution for Scheduled Castes and Tribes. Seelam stressed that citizens have the right to choose their religion, and this should not be used as a justification for stripping away reservation rights for Dalit families. Other speakers, including G. Vijay Kumar (founder of the Liberation Congress Party) and P.V. Suneel Kumar (founder of Ambedkar India Mission), urged Dalit Christians to unite in their fight for these protections. R.S. John, the event's organizer, called for legislative measures to safeguard the rights of Dalit Christians, emphasizing that religious liberty is a fundamental right.
