On Sunday morning, a fatal accident occurred on the Kant-Jalalabad Highway in Shahjahanpur district, Uttar Pradesh, India, when a speeding dumper truck crashed into an auto-rickshaw carrying seven passengers. The collision resulted in the deaths of three people, including a married couple, identified as Ramkshatriya, 28, and his wife Sunny Kumar. Four others sustained injuries, including Muskan, 18, and Krishna, a four-year-old boy who is the son of the deceased couple. The accident took place around 11 am near the Kamalnainpur crossing, as the auto-rickshaw was traveling from Jalalabad. Eyewitnesses reported panic as local residents rushed to assist the trapped passengers. The injured were initially taken to the Community Health Centre for treatment and later referred to the Government Medical College for advanced care due to the severity of their injuries. The dumper truck, loaded with gravel and sand, was seized, but the driver fled the scene. Police are currently working to locate and apprehend the driver, while traffic on the highway was disrupted temporarily due to the incident.
