During a media conference in Malappuram, Kerala's General Education Minister N Samsudheen discussed the examination of the PM SHRI (Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India) status. He highlighted that while the previous government signed the MoU, the current administration must assess whether it can withdraw unilaterally. The minister noted that the state received ₹93 crore following the MoU and emphasized that any decision must consider both legal implications and political perspectives. Additionally, he acknowledged a significant shortage of Plus One seats in districts like Malappuram, stating that 350 additional batches will be allotted to address this issue. The minister also assured that the printing of textbooks is progressing, with 3.5 lakh books being distributed daily to ensure availability by May 30. Furthermore, he mentioned exploring ways to incorporate more artificial intelligence lessons into the curriculum, recognizing the need for updated IT education. The minister aims to ensure that all students have the necessary facilities for their studies, while also addressing any practices of passing students without merit.
