The film, which has been postponed since January, is linked to Vijay's political ambitions with the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party. Chandrasekhar stated that Vijay anticipated obstacles due to his political involvement, noting, 'If the film had been released without any hurdles, we would have been surprised.' The film has struggled to secure a Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and was reportedly leaked online on April 9, leading to nine arrests in connection with the leak. Chandrasekhar hinted at the possibility of opposition parties being involved in the film's troubles, emphasizing that such speculation is 'natural'. 'Jana Nayagan' is directed by Vinoth and features a star-studded cast, including Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol. The film was originally set for a January release for Pongal but has faced continuous setbacks.
