The Punjab Abadi Deh (Record of Rights) Act, 2021 establishes a modern legal structure for recording ownership rights in areas historically lacking formal land records. Additionally, the Punjab Prevention of Human Smuggling Act, 2012, and its amendment provide a regulatory framework for travel agents to combat human smuggling. The Haryana Fire and Emergency Services Act, 2022 replaces the existing legal framework with a contemporary fire safety regime, while the Assam Tenancy Act, 2021 introduces a balanced tenancy framework, replacing the outdated East Punjab Urban Rent Restriction Act, 1949. Collectively, these measures aim to fill gaps in existing laws, enhance regulatory clarity, and improve governance in Chandigarh.
