The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Mohali is set to begin on June 25, 2026, and will last until July 24, 2026. District election officer and deputy commissioner Komal Mittal announced that the initiative, mandated by the Election Commission of India (ECI), aims to enhance the accuracy and authenticity of voter lists. A total of 838 Booth Level Officers (BLOs), along with 83 supervisors, will conduct door-to-door verification, helping voters fill out necessary forms. The training for these officials will take place from June 15 to June 24. The qualifying date for voters is established as January 1, 2003. Following the verification, draft electoral rolls will be published on July 31, with a window for claims and objections until August 30. The final electoral rolls are expected to be released by October 1, 2026. Mittal emphasized that Aadhaar will only be accepted as identity proof, and any voter registration in multiple locations is a punishable offense. Voters can also seek assistance through a toll-free helpline at 1950.
