The Maccabiah Games, often called the 'Jewish Olympics,' will officially return to Jerusalem this summer, with a grand opening ceremony scheduled for July 1, 2026, at Teddy Stadium. Organizers have launched ticket sales for the event, which promises to be one of Israel's largest cultural and sporting gatherings. The ceremony will feature performances from prominent artists including Montana Tucker, who will perform an original song, and Netta Barzilai, who will duet with Anna Zak. The event will also showcase a parade of thousands of athletes from Jewish communities worldwide, alongside a large-scale production involving pyrotechnics and hundreds of dancers. The Maccabiah Games will take place from July 1-13, 2026, with athletes competing in over 30 sports. Originally set for 2025, the event was postponed due to security concerns following the October 7 attacks. In addition to competitions, there will be a new experiential sports complex at Expo Tel Aviv and various volunteer activities.
