Investigators have established that Cole Allen, the alleged assailant who tried to storm a media gala in Washington, D.C., shot a Secret Service officer during the incident on April 25. U.S. prosecutor Jeanine Pirro confirmed that a pellet from Allen's Mossberg pump-action shotgun was found intertwined with the officer's protective vest. This revelation clarifies previous uncertainties about whose weapon struck the officer amid chaotic gunfire, which also involved other Secret Service agents. Security footage shows Allen sprinting through a checkpoint and raising his firearm towards the officer, who responded by firing several shots. Allen was quickly apprehended after charging the security area with multiple weapons. Pirro emphasized that Allen had the intent to kill, not only the officer but also anyone obstructing his path to the former president.
