Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) authorities reported the seizure of approximately 60 kg of ganja and the arrest of three individuals in operations aimed at curbing drug trafficking. The operations took place from April 20 to April 22 across various railway stations in West Bengal and Tripura. On April 20, at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station in West Bengal, RPF personnel recovered 31.80 kg of ganja valued at around ₹15.90 lakh (approximately $19,200 USD). Following this, on April 21, two suspects were apprehended at Agartala Railway Station in Tripura, where 21.48 kg of ganja worth around ₹10.74 lakh (approximately $12,900 USD) was seized. The following day, another individual was arrested at the same station with an additional 6 kg of ganja. All arrested individuals and the seized contraband were handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP) for further action.
