In a disturbing case from Thiruvananthapuram, cricket coach Manu M has been sentenced to 16 years of rigorous imprisonment for molesting a minor girl. The court also ordered him to pay a fine of ₹24,000 as compensation to the victim. The abuse took place when the girl, then in the seventh grade, was training at a prominent cricket center. Manu M lured her to the gym under the guise of training and allegedly molested her, even attempting to force her to pose for nude photographs. When she refused, he reportedly denied her further training, leading her to leave the center. Four years later, she bravely filed a police complaint, prompting an investigation that revealed six additional cases against the coach. The verdict was delivered by the Thiruvananthapuram Fast Track Special Court, with the sentences running concurrently, meaning he will serve a total of five years in jail.
