In the wake of its significant electoral win in West Bengal, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is facing challenges related to the influx of leaders and cadres from the Trinamool Congress (TMC). Reports have surfaced of TMC members attempting to join the BJP, particularly those involved in post-poll violence. To address this issue, the BJP has formed a three-member screening committee comprising MP Deboshree Choudhary, newly elected MLA Dr Indranil Khan, and office-bearer Amitabha Roy. The committee will scrutinize video footage to identify TMC cadres masquerading as BJP members. The BJP's leadership has publicly stated that it will not provide refuge to individuals with a history of corruption or violence. Furthermore, the party has pledged to use legal measures against those impersonating BJP workers to create disorder, highlighting its commitment to maintaining integrity within its ranks.
