The Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) reported that frozen shrimp was the leading export product, generating ₹49,037.93 crore (around $5,624.48 million), which represents 40.19% of the total quantity and 66.52% of dollar earnings from seafood exports. The United States remained the largest importer, taking in 2,56,128 MT of frozen shrimp, followed by China with 1,69,505 MT. Other notable products included frozen fish and dried seafood items, which earned ₹5,658.37 crore ($643.70 million) and ₹5,079.09 crore ($577.44 million) respectively. The export of frozen squid and cuttlefish also showed positive trends, contributing significantly to the overall earnings. Major ports handling seafood exports included Vizag, JNPT, and Kochi.
