In Patna, Bihar, the number of branded hotels is set to increase significantly, with a total of 11 hotels expected to operate soon. Currently, only two branded hotels, The Taj City Centre and The Lemon Tree Premier, exist in the city. Nationwide, the hospitality sector anticipates the addition of 60,253 hotel keys in state capitals over the next five years, according to hospitality consultancy Hotelivate. Notably, Lucknow is projected to see 35 new hotels with 4,059 keys, while Kolkata will add 19 hotels with 1,993 keys. The existing supply in state capitals includes 692 hotels with 95,470 keys. Revenue per available room in these hotels has reportedly grown by 9% over the last fiscal year. Major hotel chains, including ITC Hotels and Radisson Hotel Group, are actively pursuing expansions in key state capitals, indicating strong demand in both established and emerging markets. This trend reflects a broader strategy to enhance hospitality offerings in high-growth states across India.
