The National Defence Academy (NDA) in Khadakwasla, Maharashtra, celebrated the graduation of 353 cadets from its 150th course on May 30, 2023. Among the graduates were 21 officers from friendly foreign nations, highlighting the NDA's role in fostering international military cooperation. The ceremony featured degrees conferred by Jawaharlal Nehru University, with cadets graduating across various disciplines: 112 in computer science, 65 in science, and 59 in arts. Kiran Bedi, a retired Indian Police Service officer and the first female IPS officer, served as the chief guest, encouraging cadets to view themselves as 'scholar warriors' in a dynamic global security environment. Notable academic achievements included cadet Ranvijay Tyagi, who led the computer science stream with a GPA of 8.50, receiving the commandant’s silver medal and the admiral’s rolling trophy. The NDA, established in 1954, is a prominent tri-service academy that prepares cadets for commissioning into the Indian Army, Navy, or Air Force.
