Amazon has launched the Fire TV Stick HD, an entry-level streaming device priced at $35. This new model is 30% slimmer than previous versions, allowing for easier placement behind TVs. It features Alexa+ integration and is optimized for direct power through a TV's USB port, eliminating the need for a separate power adapter. If the TV lacks a USB port, users can still power it using a traditional wall adapter. The Fire TV Stick HD supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3, making it faster and more efficient, with an average speed increase of 30% compared to its predecessor. Additionally, Amazon plans to introduce an Adaptive Display setting to enhance accessibility by improving the visibility of onscreen elements. The device will ship starting April 29, initially available in the US, UK, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand, with plans for broader distribution in the future.
