On Sunday evening, a seven-year-old boy tragically drowned in a pond located within a cremation ground in Budh Vihar, Loni, Ghaziabad, India. He had gone to the site with four to five friends around 6-7 PM to catch kites. When he went missing, his friends alerted his family, prompting them to contact the police. The pond, known as Dabar Talab, is about 30-40 feet deep and contains muck, making it difficult for the boy to escape once he fell in. Local divers, the flood unit of the Pradeshik Armed Constabulary (PAC), and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) were involved in the search, which lasted into the night and resumed early Monday. The boy's body was ultimately found about nine meters from the pond's edge. His father, Mohammad Arif, mentioned that the boy was supposed to attend tuition at 6 PM after leaving home at 5:30 PM. The family had not objected to him playing with friends, unaware of the tragic events that would unfold.
