Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced a series of measures on Thursday aimed at promoting energy conservation and reducing reliance on fuel imports. Government employees will now work from home for two days a week, and 50% of government meetings will be held online. To further encourage public transport, every Monday will be designated as 'Metro Monday', urging residents to use the Delhi Metro. Office hours have been adjusted, with Delhi government offices operating from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) offices from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Additionally, a 20% reduction in petrol allowances for officials has been announced, alongside a six-month halt on purchasing new government vehicles. Gupta also stated that ministers and officials will not undertake foreign trips for a year, and large-scale official events will be suspended for three months.
